EVERYONE'S BALLROOM
DANCE ASSOCIATION
Edmonton, Alberta, Canada
(780) 893-6828
Everyone's Ballroom Dance Association (E.B.D.A.) was formed in
the late 1980's by a small group of amateur dancers: Bob Mellor,
Frank Colpitts, Peter and Viki Van Hogezand, and Dorothea Thielmann.
The Association was aptly named to encourage everyone from the
various dance schools and organizations to attend the monthly dances.
In cooperation with the local schools, it was decided that the
Association would provide a place for dancers to try out their footwork,
showcase their skills, and be able to mix and mingle with other dancers.
The original goal was to build up enough funds to eventually purchase
a permanent home for E.B.D.A., but this goal has not yet been formalized due to
the high overhead and upfront purchase costs of a building.
E.B.D.A. is still going strong in the new millennium, with new faces and energy
keeping the dance spirit alive. Dances are held with terrific turnouts.
